Source: Govt not to ban meat, dairy imports for personal use

MOSCOW, Apr 25 (PRIME) -- The Russian government is not considering introducing a ban on imports of meat and dairy products for personal use, a government source told reporters on Thursday.

“Nobody plans to introduce any new restrictions for citizens. This issue is not being considered,” the source said.

Business daily Vedomosti reported earlier on Thursday that the National Meat Association had proposed to prohibit Russian citizens from importing meat and dairy products for personal use over risks of bringing contagious animal diseases from abroad into the country.
